the year 1992.
KF Bioplants has been established in 1997 as a joint venture
between Kumar Gen Tech & Tissue Culture Company (KGTC)
and Florist de kwakel b.v., Holland. The company is located
at Pune, 150 km south of Mumbai on two locations over
9 HA farm. |

KGTC
is a pioneer in the field of plant biotechnology (plant tissue
culture) in India. The company established its presence in India
by promoting farmers to produce floriculture crops for the domestic
and export markets. The company provided end to end solutions
to the growers i.e. from selection of land, infrastructure development,
training, planting material, project management and customers.
This helped the company grow rapidly and it is today the number
one supplier of floriculture planting material in the country.
Florist
de kwakel b. v. has over twenty five years of experience in
selection, breeding, production and marketing of young gerbera
plants. The company is one of the largest breeder and supplier
of gerbera plants in the world.
KGTC
also has a joint venture company with Van den Bos b. v., Holland
for propagation and marketing of flower bulbs in India.
The
company is associated under various arrangements with numerous
plant breeders, laboratories and companies of global presence
such as Hilverda b.v., and Vitrocenter International. |
